Founded in 1993 with a MOU between Imperial College, University of London and Asian U. The grand opening of the University was graciously presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on March 5th, 1999.

We are honoured to have as the Chairman of our University Council,
HE Anand Panyarachun Hon. KBE [pictured left] to advise and support the university on a continual basis.

The president of the University is Dr. Viphandh Roengpithya [picture top right], a former student of the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine.. 

The University endeavours to provide internationally recognised programmes of study through English as the medium of instruction.

At the time of the first intake of students, the University offered programmes in Engineering and Business. However, additional disciplines of studies are being developed and introduced as the University Council deems them to be appropriate.

In 2002, the Faculty of Liberal Arts was formed and there are now three faculties: Engineering, Business and Liberal Arts.
