What is Finance & Banking?

The Asian University of Science and Technology has been recognised as a leader in business administration and engineering education in Thailand and the region. Bachelor of Business Administration Finance and Banking programme continues this tradition by extending the possibilities to study at the Asian University of Science and Technology’s Faculty of Business which maintains high academic standards, rivalling those observed at leading business schools throughout the world.

The Asian University of Science and Technology’s B.B.A. in Finance and Banking programme aims to deepen your knowledge of the traditional areas of finance and banking with our close ties to business executives in both industrial and service firms throughout Thailand. Finance professionals today need to be mobile and think globally: therefore, we have designed the program to include a possibility of undertaking an exchange semester at one of our academic exchange partners.

Programme design

Courses typically begin in mid-August each year and end in early May. The curriculum integrates four main themes:

Foundation of general business studies including core business subjects, covering all functional areas of management, law, social science, language and humanities.

Integration of various finance and banking functions and disciplines through finance and banking major subjects.

Specialization by undertaking finance and banking electives, which allow students to pursue their special interests in certain topics in the areas of finance and banking.

Finalization through (1) a rigorous bachelor’s research project that students can apply and express their understanding of the topics and (2) general business electives, allowing students to broaden their understanding of business management and other functions.

Career Perspectives

Finance and Banking students are best equipped for entry-level finance positions through the rigorous curriculum fostering academic excellence and interdisciplinary problem-solving approach. Examples of typical careers in finance and banking include financial analyst, investment analyst, security analyst, financial consultant and finance manager.

The Asian University of Science and Technology recognises the importance of job placement for our graduates. Given the recognition, our career centre aims to offer students and graduates a wide range of services from offering workshops, individual advising and career planning, advertising open positions for internships or full-time jobs at participating companies, to organising special company visits.

The Faculty of Business hosts every year the Recruitment Day, one of the biggest recruiting events in the eastern seaboard area where many multinational firms, such as General Motor and Yokahama Tire, present themselves and interview prospective candidate on campus. It is natural for Asian University of Science and Technology graduates to sign a contract well before their graduation date.
