5 years Bachelor-Master programme
The joint programme is offered in the following fields:

- Information Management (IM)
- Computer Science (CS)
- Computer Science with specialization in Software Engineering (CS/SE)
- Mechatronics (MEC)
Leading the way in innovation for education, Asian University has launched a Five-Year Unified International Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree Programme with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The joint programme is the first of its kind in Thailand and provides a fast-track opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree recognized by both schools in less time and at lower cost than traditional programs.
According to the memorandum of agreement (MoA) signed on 27 September 2008 by the President of AIT, Prof. Said Irandoust, and the President of Asian University, Dr. Viphandh Roengpithya, at the celebration of Asian University’s 10th Anniversary, the strategic tie-up will cover the academic fields of information systems engineering and electrical and electronic engineering. The AIT-AU partnership agreement is expected to produce world-class research scientists and engineers in computer science and telecommunications.
"We are delighted that AIT and the Asian University have agreed to collaborate to offer this first of its kind Five-Year Unified International Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree Programme in Thailand. This unique and innovative academic programme in computer science and telecommunications brings together the synergies of our two fine institutions and will benefit all our students immensely," AIT President Irandoust said at the signing ceremony.
Spread over five years, the program will operate in two phases. Phase one will see participating students spend their first three-and-a-half years of bachelor’s level study at Asian University, located in Chonburi. The accelerated nature of the new curriculum will allow undergraduate students to earn up to 12 master’s level credits by taking advanced level courses, thus eliminating half a year of total course work. Students possessing an accumulative GPA of 3.00 will then enroll at AIT’s campus located in Pathumthani for their last one-and-a-half years of graduate level study leading to a master’s degree.
Officials of both academic institutions stressed the international character of this program. While at AIT, students will study with world-class faculty and scientists using only English, and join students from as many as fifty countries at one of Asia’s most multicultural graduate institutes. The curriculum will be developed and finalized by both institutions.
Former Thailand’s Prime Minister of Thailand, Anand Panyarachun, who is the founding chair of Asian University, and the former Chairman of the AIT Board of Trustees from 2000-2006, also attended the MoA signing ceremony.
